Already during his lifetime Charlemagne was a legend! In numerous wars his realm got bigger and bigger and from Aachen – his favourite place of residence – he laid the foundations of European culture. In the course of the guided tour through the Centre Charlemagne – New City Museum Aachen, you get interesting information on the subsequent centuries and their approach of creating their own idea of the powerful ruler and to make some of his glory useful for themselves. Experience how his myth is uniquely reflected in particular in the history of “his” town.
